On Saturday June the 20th, the eighth Beach Handball Tournament “Ciutat de Gavà” organized by the Handball Club Gavà and in collaboration with WOSPAC and sponsored by RebelBlood took place.
A weekend full of beach handball, which included the participation of 16 men’s teams and 10 women’s teams in the senior category. It was the first important tournament in the summer 2015 which is part of the V Championship of Beach Handball Catalunya. The winner in the men’s category was the CH Platja Calella Alkopops, while in the women’s category, The Corbi Team won the championship.
But the weekend started on Friday, when the smallest of the club had the opportunity to try for the first time the feeling of playing beach handball, to try a “360” to score a double goal, or convert a “Fly” button to increase the score by 2 goals. Some different standards, an unusual ground, but especially eager to enjoy and have fun by learning. And WOSPAC was present.
The tournament also featured a special visit from the Spanish professional handball player, Marta Mangué who currently plays for the french team Brest. Mangué received the affection of all the fans and signed autographs for the young and the old, all of them fans of handball. A perfect day surrounded by handball would not have been possible without the fantastic organization of all members of the Handball Club Gavà. See you next year!
