The infantil “A” of UE Cornellà last weekend faced RCD Espanyol and the outcome could not be more amazing for the green side, winning at the Dani Jarque Sports City.
Both teams with a perfect start of four victories in four games faced to see who would stay ahead of the classification alongside two historical teams from Barcelona, Damm CF and FC Barcelona. UE Cornellà banged on the table and will be long remembered in the club, winning 0-8 at Espanyol in their own field, something that will probably not happen ever again.
The demonstration of power and superiority of the green was from the beginning to end. The score at half time was 0-5 and the words of the second coach, Juan Gimenez gave a perfect feedback: “It was the perfect day for us and it will be very difficult to repeat it” the coach added that “since the start we were better on the field” and that reflects the half time score, winning by 0-5.
In the second part, the difference between the two teams was not that big anymore, yet the team from Cornellà extended the lead with 3 more goals. Undoubtedly Mamadouba Samah was the main threat to Espanyol and the star of the game by scoring a hat-trick. This result demonstrates the good health the youth of Cornellà has and confirms the upward trend and the good work that is being carried out in recent years and ranks them as one of the best youth soccer teams of the Catalan soccer together with FC Barcelona and RCD Espanyol, as well as and national.
WOSPAC as contributor to UE Cornellà, wants to congratulate them on the result and the work done so far and wants to wish them much more successes throughout the season.
