This weekend there were 5 games in which UE Cornellà and FC Barcelona could battle it out.
In the Cadete category, in the “liga preferente”, UE Cornellà’s Cadete C faced Barça in their Sporting City. The team was coached by Sebastian Corpas, third placed and with Miraash Imthiyaz as a member of the team sheet, went to face off against the team coming in first place.
In the Infantil category, in “división de honor”, Infantil A hosted FCB’s Infantil A. The match was to decide who would come in second in Catalunya, as RCD Espanyol had already claimed the league title. The game was an amazing spectacle with Barça in the end taking the glory 3-4.
Meanwhile, UE Cornellà’s Infantil C, with Blaiz Hall in their team sheet, visited the Joan Gamper Sporting City, to face off against FC Barcelona B, the undisputed leader of the first group of the “liga preferente”. FCB ended up snatching the win 2-1, netting the winning goal in the last minute of the game.
In the Alevin category, there were two more duels. Alevin A, hosted FCB’s Alevin A in the Nou Municipal de Cornellà, 1st and 2nd placed in the group 1 of the “liga preferente”. Barça ended up taking the glory by 3 goals to 2 in a very even match. It must also be pointed out that FCB Alevin A has won 28 games out of 28 played. Alevin B were thrashed in their visit to the Joan Gamper Sporting City, facing off against Barça’s Alevin B, who are the undeniable leaders of the Group 2 of the “liga preferente”.
Without a doubt, it was a great weekend for UE Cornellà’s youth football, and the hard work from the green entity should be highlighted, as they came face to face with the best pool of young footballers world-wide. The SOCCER Stages boys did not miss out on the chance to watch these extremely interesting matches and look out for the next superstars.
