RCD Espanyol’s stadium and Sporting city Dani Jarque, hosted the national finals of the Danone Nations Cup, which featured UE Cornellà club with which WOSPAC, has a collaboration agreement, which defended the Championship achieved last year, demonstrating the excellent level that holds the Green quarry among the 16 participants, this weekend.
The tournament had some of the best quarries throughout the country such as; FC Barcelona, RCD Espanyol, Málaga CF, C. Atlético de Madrid, Sevilla CF, Villarreal CF, making a total of 11 representatives of the Spanish Primera Division.
The performance of UE Cornellà U-12 Team, started being hesitant after losing against Malaga and tying against UD Santa Marta, champion of the phase “Zona Centro”, in the last match of the group, was only worth the victory, and the RCD Deportivo, suffered a huge defeat 8-2, which classified UE Cornella to the 1/4 finals facing Sevilla CF.
The game against Sevilla, at the end champion, was a high intensitive game, and showed the high level of the Sevilla quarry which secured the victory by 3-1 and truncating the Cornella dream to revalidate the title achieved last season.
The semi-finals, faced Sevilla-Malaga and Valencia-Barcelona respectively, where Sevilla and Valencia managed to qualify, the latter on penalties.
The final was a tight game, and while the Ches, was ahead on the scoreboard, Sevilla was able to recover and comeback taking the Spanish Danone Nations Cup phase which also takes the prize added to represent Spain, in the final phase of it, that this year will be held in Paris next October.
