The time is getting closer for UE Cornellà to show again their full potential in the final phase of the Danone Cup Nations.
On June 7, the green team won for the second consecutive year the National Final of the prestigious championship in a thrilling match where they won by two goals to zero against Real Club Celta de Vigo.
After beating Atletico Madrid by two goals to one in the first semifinal, Cornellà decided their fate in the final in the first 20 minutes. Thymos and Izán scored in minutes 12th and 26th minute the goals that will bring them to the final of the Danone Nations Cup in Morocco which will take place the 23rd and 25th of October.
Last year, the players representing Spain in the championship were lucky to travel to Mogi das Cruzes, Sao Paolo, Brazil for the final appointment of the biggest tournament of juvenile soccer in the world. An outstanding trip and amazing experience for the young talents that allowed them to fulfill a dream: to participate in a world cup and play on the grass of the Corinthians Arena. And the 21st position in the ranking did not spoil the trip.
This year they will fight to climb in the final ranking and Marrakech will be the new destination. The juvenile team of UE Cornellà will play in the group with Brazil, South Korea and the UAE. Good luck guys, learn a lot and enjoy football!
